1.  The  word photography derives from the Greek words ‘photos’ - meaning light and ‘graphien’ - to draw.

 

2.  Photography was first used in the year 1839 by Sir John Herschel.

8.  George Eastman, the owner of Kodak, named his company after the sound the shutter of a camera made.

 

9.  The first digital camera offered to consumers was only 1.4 mega-pixels and cost around $10,000.

 

10.  The most expensive camera in the world is named “Daguerreotyp “. It is 168-years-old and belongs to a scholar in the United States. He inherited it from his father who was a technical photography professor at Munich University. It is estimated to cost $132,000.
