- Caroline Wozniacki was born on July 11, 1990 in Odense, Denmark.
- She married NBA basketball player David Lee on June 16, 2019.
- Caroline announced that she and David are expecting their first child in June 2021.
COACHES
- Piotr, her father, was her coach from the age of 14.
- Caroline was coached by Sven Groeneveld during the Adidas Player Development Program in 2012. She was also coached briefly by Ricardo Sanchez and Thomas Johansson.
- In 2013, she hired Thomas Högstedt until January 2014, hiring Michael Mortensen that same month until March 2014.
- Her father coached her again until her retirement in January 2020.
JUNIOR CAREER
- Caroline was ranked 2nd in the world during her junior career.
- Her debut match was on the ITF Junior Circuit for the 18 and under junior tour. (ITF – International Tennis Federation.) Caroline was 13 years old when she played her first match.
- In Caroline’s first year of competitive tennis, she entered two Grade 5 events in Denmark, reaching the finals in both singles events. With this success, she moved up to Grade 3 and Grade 4 tournaments.
- Caroline won her first four singles events in 2004. Her run of five tournaments and 27 match wins ended when she lost to Latisha Chan at the ITC in Manila.
- Caroline won several junior tournaments in 2005, which included the Orange Bowl Tennis Championship.
- On July 19, 2005, she made her first appearance at the WTA Tour in Cincinnati, during the Western & Southern Financial Group Women’s Open. She came second with her doubles partner Anna Tatishvili in the doubles tournament.
- In February 2006, in Memphis, Caroline reached her first WTA tour quarterfinal, beating Kristina Brandi and Ashley Harkleroad and losing to Sofia Arvidsson from Sweden.
- Caroline won the Wimbledon girls’ singles tournament, beating Slovak Magdaléna Rybáriková in the final.
- In her last tournament as a junior at the Osaka Mayor’s Cup, Caroline won both singles and doubles.
SENIOR CAREER
- Her first senior tour came in October 2006, when she won a $25,000 tournament in Istanbul, beating Tatjana Malek in the final.
- On February 4, 2007, Caroline won the $75,000 singles in Ortisei, beating Alberta Brianti from Italy.

PROFESSIONAL CAREER
- Caroline won her first WTA Tour title at the Nordic Light Open in Stockholm in 2008; she beat Anabel Medina Garrigues in the quarterfinals, Agnieszka Radwanska in the semifinals, and Vera Dushevina in the final.
- At the Summer Olympics in Beijing, she beat Daniela Hantuchhová in the second round but lost the gold to Elena Dementieva.
- Caroline won her second WTA Tour title at Pilot Pen Tennis in New Haven, defeating Dominika Cibulková, Marion Bartoli, and Alize Cornet; in the final, she beat Anna Chakvetadze.
- Caroline teamed up with Medina Garrigues to win the doubles title when they defeated Han Xinyun and Xu Yifan from China, marking Caroline’s first doubles title.
- At the AIG Japan Open Tennis Championship, being the top seed for the first time on the WTA Tour, Caroline won her third career title when she defeated Kaia Kanepi of Estonia in the final.
- In 2009, Caroline reached her first Grand Slam final at the US Open.
- Caroline won her first title of 2010 at MPS Group Championships at Ponte Vedra Beach, beating Aleksandra Wozniak from Canada.
- Caroline ended the 2010 season with six WTA singles titles.
- In 2011, Caroline finished the season as world no. 1 for the second consecutive year.
- Caroline ranked 10th at the end of the season in 2012 and 2013.
- In 2014, Caroline competed in the New York Marathon.
- Caroline finished ranked 17th in 2015, her worst ranking since 2007.
- She finished 19th in the 2016 season.
- In 2017, at the WTA finals, Caroline beat Elina Svitolina for the first time, and also Simona Halep. She beat Karolina Pliskova to advance to the finals. Caroline played Venus Williams and beat her for the first time, giving her the biggest title of her career. Caroline finished the year ranked 3rd.
- In 2018, Caroline was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis before the US Open.
- In 2019, Caroline didn’t win a title and announced she would be retiring after the 2020 Australian Open, where she won her first and only Grand Slam title.
