- Theo James Walcott was born in Stanmore, London on March 16, 1989. His father, Donald Walcott, is British Jamaican. His mother Lynne Walcott, is a female youth football coach. He has a stepmother named Gail.
- He has a sister named Hollie who is a bodybuilder. He has a brother named Ashley.
- Theo grew up in Compton, Berkshire. He went to The Downs School and Compton Church of England Primary School.
- Growing up, Theo and his father supported Liverpool F.C. He was able to meet several Liverpool players when Chelsea F.C. asked Theo to be a ball boy for a match.
- Theo started playing football when his parents encouraged him to join their village team. He then played for the local club Newbury from 1999 to 2000.
- When he was 11, he transferred to Swindon Townβs club but was quickly recruited by Southampton F.C.
- Though Chelsea F.C was also interested, he preferred Southampton. He trained with their youth team from 2000 to 2005.
- The sportswear brand Nike became his sponsor when he was 14.
CLUB CAREER
- Walcott debuted for Southampton’s first team in October 2005. He was nominated for the BBC Young Sports Personality of the Year.
- In 2006, several English clubs showed interest in Theo. He transferred to Arsenal F.C. under manager Arsène Wenger.
- While Walcott started off as a substitute in the 2006β07 season, he often made assists for the team.
- Theo scored his first goal for Arsenal in the 2007 League Cup Final, where they lost against Chelsea.
- Walcott solidified his position as a consistent goal scorer during the 2007β08 season.

- Walcott was the 2012β13 Football League Cup top scorer, and the top scorer of his team.
- He was a consistent scorer towards the end of the 2012-13 campaign when he also made the fastest goal in the Premier League that season.
- In January 2013, he signed a contract extension with Arsenal.
- Theo was briefly ruled out of the 2013β14 campaign because of an abdominal injury. Though he soon returned, he injured his knee and had to miss the rest of the season and the 2014 World Cup.
- The following season, Walcott returned and helped Arsenal win the 2015 FA Cup Final. They also won the FA Community Shield.
- Arsenal won the FA Cup once more in the 2016β17 season, and also won the 2017 FA Community Shield.
- In January 2018, Walcott transferred to Everton. He then returned to Southampton in 2020 on loan, which became a permanent transfer in 2021.

- Walcott made his way through Englandβs youth teams. He was a member of the Under 16, U17, and U19 teams.
- He was a part of Englandβs squad for the 2006 FIFA World Cup, where they finished 7th.
- He debuted for Englandβs senior squad in 2006 during a friendly against Hungary.
- In 2006, Theo was then the youngest goalscorer for the England under-21 team.
- Walcott participated in the 2009 UEFA European Under-21 Championship, where they finished second
- Theo participated in Englandβs 2010 World Cup qualifying campaign. Despite this, Walcott was left out of England’s 23-man squad for the World Cup.
- In September 2010, Walcott was injured during a Euro 2012 qualifying match. He participated in the UEFA Euro 2012, though England was eliminated in the quarterfinals.
- Walcott participated in Englandβs 2014 World Cup Qualifying campaign but was ruled out of the cup itself due to injury.
- He was excluded from Englandβs Euro 2016 squad.
- His last goal for England was in 2015, and his last appearance for the team was in 2016.
OUTSIDE OF FOOTBALL
- Theoβs aunt Yvonne is married to David Yates, an English film director. His family members made a brief cameo in βHarry Potter and the Order of the Phoenixβ in 2007, which was directed by Yates. Theo was unable to appear because of his clubβs intervention.
- Theoβs cousin Jacob Walcott is also a football player who represented Englandβs under-17 team.
- Theo met Melanie Slade in 2004 at a shopping center in Southampton. They were married in June 2013 at the Castello di Vincigliata in Tuscany, Italy.
- Their first son Finley James Walcott was born in April 2014. Finley was born with a congenital heart defect. Their second son Arlo was born in November 2016.
- Walcott participated in Englandβs Olympic Torch Relay to mark the Beijing 2008 Summer Olympics.
- In November 2012, he appeared in an advertisement for Nike.
