EARLY LIFE
- Ricardo Izecson dos Santos Leite was born on April 22, 1982, in Gama, Brazil.
- His mother is Simone dos Santos, an elementary school teacher, and his father is Bosco Izecson Pereira Leite, a civil engineer. Kaká belonged to a middle class family.
- Kaká’s younger brother. Rodrigo, and cousin, Eduardo Delani, are also football players.

CLUB CAREER
- Kaká joined São Paulo F.C.’s academy and signed a contract at age 15.
- He debuted for São Paulo’s senior team in 2001 at the age of 18. His skill was soon noticed by European clubs.
- He joined the Serie A club, A.C. Milan, in 2003.
- The team finished as champions of the Serie A and Supercoppa Italiana. He became a crucial member of the starting lineup and was later named the 2004 Serie A Footballer of the Year.
- Despite losing the 2005 UEFA Champions League Final, he was named the UEFA Club Midfielder of the Year.
- In 2006, he was named to the UEFA Team of the Year and FIFPro World XI.
- In 2007, Milan won the UEFA Champions League Final. He was later declared the league’s Top Forward and UEFA Club Footballer of the Year.
- He was recognized as the 2006–07 FIFPro World Player of the Year.
- The 2007-08 season was also successful for Kaká as he won the 2007 UEFA Super
- Cup Final, Ballon d’Or, FIFA Club World Cup Final, and was named the 2007 FIFA World Player of the Year. He was once more named the Serie A Footballer of the Year in 2007.
- After six years with Milan, Kaká joined Real Madrid in 2009 for about €67 million.
- In 2011, Real Madrid won the Copa del Rey. They finished the 2011–12 season as champions of La Liga.
- In 2013, he returned to Milan, but his performance was affected by injuries. After one season, he left to join MLS Team Orlando City.
- He spent his first season on loan to São Paulo F.C. He promptly returned to Orlando, but was sometimes sidelined due to injuries.
- In 2017, he announced his retirement.
INTERNATIONAL CAREER
- Kaká debuted for Brazil at the international level in 2001, and at the senior level in 2002.
- Despite limited playing time, he contributed to the Brazil squad that won the 2002 World Cup.
- He helped his team win the 2005 FIFA Confederations Cup Final and represented them at the 2006 FIFA World Cup.
- He helped Brazil win the 2009 FIFA Confederations Cup Final. Kaká was also called up to the 2010 World Cup squad.
OUTSIDE OF FOOTBALL
- In 2005, Kaká married Caroline Celico, who he met in his youth. Their son, Luca, was born in 2008, and their daughter, Isabella, was born in 2011. Kaká and Caroline announced their divorce in 2015.
- In 2007, he received Italian citizenship.
- He has been featured on several editions of EA Sports’ FIFA video game.
- Kaká is one of the most followed football players on social media.
- He is known for his strong faith as a Christian, often celebrating his goals by pointing to the sky.
- In 2004, he served as an Ambassador Against Hunger for the United Nations’ World Food Programme.
- He married Carolina Dias in 2019. In 2020, they had a daughter named Esther.
