- One way to classifying objects is by their colors.

- Another way is to classify objects according to size.
CLASSIFYING/SORTING OBJECTS
- Aside from classifying objects according to their colors or sizes, there are more ways to classify objects. For example, you can classify the children in a room according to their eye colors or even according to their hair colors.
- You can classify objects according to their lengths, whether short or long. For higher classification methods, you can classify objects according to the number of sides the object has.
SORTING NUMBERS
- There are two ways to sort numbers, either increasing or decreasing.
- Increasing means that the numbers are getting larger.
- Decreasing means that the numbers are getting smaller.
- With prior knowledge about comparing numbers, ask the students to sort the numbers 1 to 5 as a refresher.
CLASSIFYING OBJECTS AND SORTING ACCORDING TO COUNT
- After classifying the objects according to their respective characteristics or attributes, count the objects to know the total count per classification group.
- With prior knowledge about comparing numbers, ask the student to sort the objects by type of fruit.
- The two categories are (1) banana and (2) apple.
- After classifying the objects as either banana or apple, count the pieces of bananas under the banana category and then count the pieces of apple under the apple category.
- Identify the count of each category.
- Use the idea of sorting numbers to sort each category.
- Arrange the two boxes in increasing order.
- Using the same idea as sorting numbers, you can also sort multiple categories according to their count.
