- Catherine was baptized on June 20, 1982, at St. Andrewβs Bradfield in Berkshire after being born on January 9, 1982, at Readingβs Royal Berkshire Hospital.
- She is the oldest of three children born to Michael Francis Middleton, who also worked as a flight attendant before becoming a flight dispatcher for British Airways. Carole, a former flight attendant, is now a part-owner of Party Pieces, a privately held company.
- Her parents wed on June 21, 1980, in the Parish Church of Dorney, Buckinghamshire. In 1987, they started Party Pieces, a mail-order business that provides party supplies and decorations. James Middleton and Philippa βPippaβ Charlotte are her siblings. Since Catherineβs engagement, the family has complained about Pippa and their mother being harassed by the media.
- Catherineβs paternal line originated in Leeds, West Riding of Yorkshire, and her great-grandmother Olivia belonged to the Lupton family, who had a long history of involvement in Leedsβ business and governmental sectors.
- Thomas Davis, a composer of Church of England hymns, is among her ancestors. The Harrisons, Carole Middletonβs maternal family, were County Durham and Sunderland-based working-class laborers and miners.

- Because she was Williamβs unofficial girlfriend, Catherine had extensive media coverage in the UK and overseas, and she was frequently captured in photographs while going about her regular business.
- On October 17, 2005, she complained to the media through her attorney, claiming that she had done nothing noteworthy to merit such notoriety.
- It was stated in February 2006 that Catherine would have a dedicated 24-hour security detail from the Royalty Protection division (SO14). Because she would not usually be qualified for this position, this fueled more rumors that she and William would shortly be engaged.
- Around the time of Catherineβs 25th birthday in January 2007, media interest grew, prompting warnings from Charles and William and Catherineβs solicitors, who threatened legal action.
- At least one official royal event that Catherine attended was Williamβs passing out parade at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst on December 15, 2006.

- Prince Harry, Williamβs brother, served as the best man, and Pippa, the brideβs sister, was the maid of honor.
- The newlyweds made their customary appearance on the Buckingham Palace balcony following the ceremony. The wedding was not a whole state affair because Prince William was not the heir apparent to the throne then. Many elements, such as the majority of the guest list of roughly 1,900, were left up to the couple to select.

MARRIAGE LIFE
- St. Jamesβs Palace revealed that Catherine was expecting her first child on December 3, 2012. Because she had been taken to King Edward VIIβs Hospital with hyperemesis gravidarum, a severe form of morning sickness, the announcement was made earlier in the pregnancy than average. She spent three days in the hospital.
- On July 22, 2013, Prince George was born at St. Maryβs Hospital in London. With the succeeding pregnancies, Catherineβs severe morning sickness resumed, necessitating the cancellation of her official commitments. Princess Charlotte was born on May 2, 2015, and Prince Louis was born on April 23, 2018.
KATE IN THE EYE OF THE PUBLIC
- Catherine and William met US President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama at Buckingham Palace in May, marking their first official engagement following the wedding. William and Catherineβs first royal trip to Canada took place in July 2011.
- The pair participated in Canada Day festivities by going to those events. Catherineβs first journey to the United States included a two-day visit to California as part of the tour.
- She performed her debut solo engagement at a Clarence House reception for In Kind Direct on October 27, 2011, filling in for the then-Prince Charles.
ADVOCATE OF MENTAL HEALTH
