- Belgium is a united state composed of three communities (Flemish Community, French Community, and German-speaking Community) and three regions (Brussels-Capital Region, Flemish Region. and Walloon Region).
- Socially, Belgium is a heterogeneous nation bestriding the boundary between the Romance and Germanic language groups of western Europe.
- Except for a small German-talking population in the eastern part of the nation, Belgium is composed of French-talking individuals, collectively called Walloons.
GEOGRAPHY
- Belgium has a sum of 860 miles (1,385 km) of land limits with neighbors; it is limited by the Netherlands toward the north, Germany toward the east, Luxembourg toward the southeast, and France toward the south. Belgium additionally has nearly 40 miles of shoreline on the North Sea.

PEOPLE
- Belgium’s population is divided into three linguistic communities: Dutch in the north, French in south, and German in east.
