EARLY LIFE AND EDUCATION
- On August 15, 1950, Princess Anne was born in London at Clarence House. She is Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip’s only daughter and sister to King Charles III.
- George V gave the go-ahead to use the titles Prince or Princess to only the sovereign’s male-line descendants and offspring. However, Princess Elizabeth and Prince Philip’s children were given such titles under the new regulations issued by George VI.
- The Archbishop of York baptized her on October 21, 1950, at Buckingham Palace. Her title was Royal Highness Princess Anne of Edinburgh until 1952.
- The title Her Royal Highness The Princess Anne was bestowed upon Princess Anne by her mother, Queen Elizabeth II when she ascended the throne following the death of King George VI in 1952.
- She was too young when her mother was crowned and did not attend the event.

- Princess Anne wed Mark Phillips in Westminster Abbey, London, on November 14, 1973. Before becoming a Captain, he was a Lieutenant in the Queen’s Dragoon Guards. Their children do not have courtesy titles because he declined an earldom offered to him.
- In 1977, their son Peter Phillips was born, followed by their daughter Zara in 1981.
- She was the victim of a failed kidnapping attempt in 1974 in Pall Mall, London, where a crazy person attempted to force her into a car and demand ransom.
